GOVERNMENT SET TO TROUBLE SHOOT SERVICE DELIVERY ISSUES

Cogta MEC Fikile Xasa has noted with concern the disruption of the registration process in some parts of the Eastern Cape Province on 05-06 March 2016. As a result, in Ntabankulu the affected Voting Districts (VD), registration of voters could not take place in five (5) voting stations in Wards 15 namely Tonti, Solomon Gagane, Ngqani and Ngonyameni.

In Ward 16, two voting stations were affected in Mabofu and Mazeni. Other affected areas were in Mount Ayliff, Port St Johns and Mnquma, Mbashe, Sakhisizwe local municipalities. Communities protested due to complaints about access roads, housing, water and sanitation and unemployment.

MEC Xasa said government, led by Cogta as the coordinating department will send a team of officials this week to the affected areas to address the source of the current challenges. Continue reading
