MEC XASA ATTENDS TO MBASHE SERVICE DELIVERY ISSUES

As part of the Back to Basics (B2B) programme of putting the concerns of the people first, MEC for the department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) will be visiting the community of Elliotdale to discuss service delivery issues which have led to violent protests this week. MEC Xasa will also attend to complaints raised by Ratepayers of Mbhashe Local Municipality. The visit will take place on 02 May 2016. The details are as follows;

  • 10h00-12h00 meeting at Jalamba Traditional Council in Ward 18,
  • 13h00-15h00 meeting at Mqhele Administrative area in Ward 28.

COGTA MEC MEETS TROIKA LEADERSHIP ON HOTSPOT AREAS IN OR TAMBO

The MEC for the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) Fikile Xasa will visit the leadership of OR Tambo District Municipality to meet with the Mayors, Chief Whips and Speakers (Troika) to address service delivery issues raised by various communities during the voter registration period. The visit is part of Pillar 1 of the Back to Basics (B2B) programme which is Putting People and their Concerns First.
The two day visit will start from 17-18 April 2016 and involves community meetings to talk about issues of the delivery of services. Continue reading

HANDING OVER OF VOTER INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING

The MEC for Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Fikile Xasa will hand over voter infrastructure funding to the mayors of the Eastern Cape. The funding is meant to implement road infrastructure projects to ensure successful Local Government Elections. The handing over event will be held at Provincial Disaster Management Centre at Bisho on 6 April, 2016 at 10h00. Continue reading
