Mr Sindisile Maclean is the Superintendent-General at the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Rhodes University majoring in Politics and Law. He is currently enrolled for the theses component of his Masters Degree in Public Administration through the University of Fort Hare, having completed the course work with three distinctions, one of which was Local Government and Administration. Mr Maclean has had a highly rewarding career in public office, having held various Portfolios such as the Member of the Eastern Cape Legislature, Leader of the House and recently Mayor of Buffalo City Municipality, a position which he held until his appointment to the Department of Local Government and Traditional Affairs in 2006.
